MacArthur Drive closure, CityBus route change, other restrictions near Hillenbrand Residence Hall start in March
As construction on a new residence hall gets underway, several travel restrictions will be in place around Hillenbrand Residence Hall as outlined below and shown on the included map.
- On March 4, some parking spaces north of Hillenbrand Residence Hall along Third Street will be removed.
- Beginning March 11 and continuing through summer 2026, MacArthur Drive from Third to First Streets will be closed. All parking along this section of MacArthur Drive will be unavailable, and alternate Residence Hall permit parking is available in the nearby McCutcheon Drive Parking Garage.
- Also on March 11, the Hillenbrand Dining Court and loading dock will also close. These closures will last through the summer and reopen for the start of the fall semester.
- The walkway between Earhart and Shreve Residence Halls will also close for about two weeks beginning March 11.
As a result of the MacArthur Drive closure, CityBus routes 28 Gold Loop and 13 Silver Loop will be impacted. Riders are encouraged to check the real-time GPS tracking of buses on the Where Is the Bus? webpage or on the MyCityBus mobile app.
Motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists should use extreme caution in the area and obey all posted signs and detours.
