Update: Second closure underway for North Martin Jischke Drive repairs, sports center access modified

Updated June 30, 2021 to reflect a new title and revised Córdova Recreational Sports Center access — originally titled "Second closure set to begin for North Martin Jischke Drive repairs"

As part of ongoing pavement repairs, North Martin Jischke Drive between Third Street and just north of the Córdova Recreational Sports Center (CREC) access drive recently closed.

The first phase of the project started May 17 with North Martin Jischke Drive closing between State and Third streets. That stretch of North Martin Jischke Drive reopened before the second phase began.

The second and final phase of work will close North Martin Jischke Drive from north of the Third Street intersection to just north of the CREC access drive as shown in the map below. The detour for that closure will include the following:

  • North Martin Jischke Drive
  • State Street
  • North Russell Street
  • Stadium Avenue

This work is weather dependent and the schedule could shift accordingly.

The overall project is scheduled to be complete by early August.

Access to the CREC will be maintained from the north from Stadium Avenue.

As a result of the project, on-street parking along North Martin Jischke Drive in the area will be permanently removed.

Additional parking will continue to be available at the CREC parking lot and south of Wood Residence Hall (WOOD) and Duhme Residence Hall (DUHM).

Questions related to the project may be directed to Kristi Brown, senior project manager, at (765) 494-7183 or brownk@purdue.edu. Questions regarding parking, including disability parking needs, may be directed to Parking and Transportation Services at parking@purdue.edu.
