U.S. 231 and Cherry Lane intersection expected to open Friday afternoon

An extension of Cherry Lane from McCormick Road to U.S. 231 has been under construction over recent months. The intersection of U.S. 231 and Cherry Lane is anticipated to open around noon tomorrow (Aug. 30). The City of West Lafayette will issue a Nixle alert when the intersection is opened to traffic.

New traffic signals are installed at this intersection, and signs will be provided along U.S. 231 to alert motorists of the change. Upon the opening of the intersection, east-west travel will be possible from U.S. 231 to Northwestern Avenue along Cherry Lane.

Motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians should use extreme caution in the area as all travelers adjust to the new configuration, signals and increased traffic flow.
