Art of Aging exhibit seeks artworks from local artists

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — A Purdue University center is seeking original artworks from community members for this fall’s Art of Aging: Time Horizons and Optimal Aging. Preference will be given to works by those over the age of 55.

The entry deadline is 5 p.m. on July 22. The exhibit is sponsored by Purdue’s Center on Aging and the Life Course and will be 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Sept. 15, in the Purdue Memorial Union West Faculty Lounge. The event is in celebration of the center’s 20th anniversary.

“We are looking for a lot of diversity in mediums, styles and artists as they capture elements of aging and the life course,” said Traci Robison, assistant director of the Center on Aging and the Life Course.

Work may be of any media, but will be juried for quality. Additional submission criteria and the entry form are available online. Any questions can directed to Robison at tpr@purdue.edu.

The event is supported by the College of Liberal Arts, College of Health and Human Sciences, Purdue University Retirement Association and Westminster Village West Lafayette.
