2018-19 faculty and staff parking permits available now

Current parking permits on the West Lafayette campus expire Aug. 15, and all individuals interested in parking on campus during the 2018-19 academic year need to register their vehicle(s) online and purchase a new permit before that time.

Faculty and staff can purchase new parking permits online beginning today (May 2), and students are expected to be able to purchase permits in early June. Active permit holders should continue to use their current passes until they expire on Aug. 15.

As previously announced, the University has been testing a new license plate recognition (LPR) system that will be used for parking enforcement starting in August. Faculty and staff should purchase/renew their parking permit for 2018-19 throughout May in order to facilitate the last phase of LPR testing. Additionally, beginning in early June, Parking Facilities will be placing sign-up reminders on vehicles that are scanned by Parking Facilities staff with the LPR software but not yet found in the system.

In order to make entering data into the system easier, Parking Facilities suggests individuals take a photo of their license plate(s) and reference it while completing the online process. Faculty and staff may register multiple vehicles per permit, but only one of those vehicles can be parked on campus at a time to avoid receiving a citation.

To purchase a new permit, faculty and staff should complete the following steps:

* Visit the online parking portal at https://purdue.t2hosted.com/Account/Portal.

* Select “Permits” from the top navigation section of the webpage.

* Select “Get Permits.”

* Then follow the steps accordingly.

All permit purchases/renewals must be completed online. Per the usual process, payroll deductions for 2018-19 will begin in August.

Individuals who purchase an “A” or “reserve” permit will receive a physical pass that will allow access to the gated Grant and Harrison Street Parking Garages in case of an LPR system outage. The physical passes will be tied to a permit and will not expire. If an individual does not renew the “A” or “reserve” permit in the future, then the physical pass should be returned to Parking Facilities.

Additional LPR information may be found in the FAQ section of the Parking Facilities website.
