Reminder: Procedures for Programs Involving Minors

Faculty and staff are reminded that any University program or activity that they and/or their department will host that includes minors as participants, whether held on campus or off, must follow the University's Procedures for Programs Involving Minors. The procedures require that all programs be registered with the University. When registering, the program director is required to certify that the following three conditions have been met:

* All program staff have passed the minimum background check requirements.

* All program staff have completed training on youth safety and mandatory reporting in Indiana within the 24-month period preceding the start of the program.

* The safeguards outlined in Section X (Checklist) of the procedures have been put in place.

A set of FAQs is provided for further clarification. Questions about the procedures may be directed to the University Policy Office at policies@purdue.edu or 765-496-9634.
