Office of the Provost and Discovery Park to host data science forums

This fall, the Office of the Provost and Discovery Park are hosting three agile strategy forums on Purdue’s new data science initiative. Tomás Diáz de la Rubia, Discovery Park’s chief scientist and executive director, and Jenna Rickus, associate vice provost for teaching and learning, will lead the campus conversations.

These forums will be open, inclusive discussions, which will position the University to:

* Prepare its students to engage fully in a data-driven world.
* Empower faculty by creating a research ecosystem that supports the data science needs and interests of faculty across campus.
* Engage with partners in areas of scholarly focus where Purdue brings unique strength.
* Transform the state of Indiana by realizing the potential of data science for economic development.

The dates and locations of the forums are:

* Sept. 28 (Th) -- 10 a.m.-noon Stewart Center, Room 214AB.
* Oct. 13 (F) – 3-5 p.m. Stewart Center, Room 310.
* Oct. 31 (T) -- 3-5 p.m. Stewart Center, Room 310.

Those interested in attending can register at https://purdue-data-science.eventbrite.com. Individuals who wish to attend more than one session should register for each separately through the Eventbrite page.
