Faculty search committee workshops scheduled

ADVANCE Purdue is offering two fall sessions of the "ADVANCE/OVPEC Faculty Search Committee Workshop" in September and October.

The workshop, which is open to all faculty and required for serving on a search committee, will be held 8:15 a.m.-noon on Sept. 15 in the France A. Córdova Recreational Sports Center, Multipurpose Room 5. Light breakfast items will be available.  The October workshop will be held from 1:15 to 5 p.m. Oct. 24 in Purdue Memorial Union, Room 118, with lunch items available.

The workshop provides an interactive opportunity to explore and discuss search strategies and challenges. It is research-based and includes important information on unintentional bias. The workshop is conducted in a roundtable format that offers opportunity for an in-depth discussion of faculty search best practices with other faculty members across campus, including how to build a robust and diverse candidate pool.

Those faculty planning to attend can click the link to register for one of the two workshops: https://purdue.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_80z1jbdgxHs8gkt

Any questions should be directed to De Bush at djbush@purdue.edu. The workshop and registration information is also available at www.purdue.edu/advance-purdue/center-for-faculty-success/faculty-searchcommittee-workshop.html. Those interested are encouraged to register as soon as possible due to the high demand for these workshops.
