Students from around the globe converged into a packed Loeb Playhouse for a convocation featuring a variety of topics including Greater Lafayette and resources provided by the Graduate School and its campus partners. Speakers at the convocation were Thomas Atkinson, associate dean of the Graduate School; John Dennis, mayor of West Lafayette; Capt. Keene Red Elk, Purdue University police; Erin Oliver, director of the Office of Institutional Equity; and Tricia Olinger, secretary in the Purdue Graduate Student Center. Andrew Zeller, president of Purdue Graduate Student Government, presided.

Students with assistantships and fellowship attended a benefits session, and students also had the opportunity to go to a resource fair in Stewart Center with 45 campus service providers and clubs. A Q&A panel for new international students concluded the event.
