Troy Janes

Troy Janes has extensive academic and professional experience in accounting. He has served on the faculty of the University at Buffalo, Rutgers University, and Purdue University. He has taught classes at the graduate and undergraduate levels in auditing, fraud examination, financial accounting, and accounting data analytics. His research interests include the role of accounting information in predicting financial distress and the causes and consequences of fraud. His research on behavioral influences in stock markets has been featured in The Economist, Forbes, and The New York Times, and his calculator collection has been featured in Purdue Alumnus Magazine.

Dr. Janes has worked extensively on the Uniform CPA Exam and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Central Indiana Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. His professional experience includes time as an auditor and real estate consultant at Ernst and Young and as an assistant controller in a real estate management company. He has earned a Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Michigan and a BA in accounting from Utah State University. Dr. Janes is licensed as a CPA in Pennsylvania and is a Certified Fraud Examiner.
