Author, psychiatrist will talk about ‘What IF We Went
Beyond a Disease Model of Addiction?’

What are the limitations of the disease model of addiction and what are its benefits? How does this affect our understanding of the roots of the opioid crisis and potential remedies? Author and psychiatrist Dr. Sally Satel will address the question “What IF We Went Beyond a Disease Model of Addiction?” on Oct. 29.

Are you polluting your
office air just by existing?

Just by breathing or wearing deodorant, you have more influence over your office space than you might think, a growing body of evidence shows. But could these basic acts of existence also be polluting the air in the office room where you work? To find out, a team of engineers at Purdue has been conducting one of the largest studies of its kind in the office spaces of a building equipped with thousands of sensors.

sold-out visit to Purdue?

If you have already claimed tickets for “An Evening with Condoleezza Rice” on Wednesday (Oct. 9), you will need to make advance arrangements to pick up tickets with a valid photo ID. Local residents should visit the Loeb Box Office in Stewart Center before Wednesday (Oct. 9) to avoid long lines. The box office is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 7-8).
