Purdue names vice provost for diversity and inclusion

John Gates, an administrator in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Virginia, has been named as Purdue University’s vice provost for diversity and inclusion. Gates also will serve as clinical professor in the Krannert School of Management. His appointment will be effective April 1.

'Refillable' technology could power electric car up to 3,000 miles

A new type of electric vehicle power using “refillable” technology has taken another giant leap in advancing alternative energy with testing that shows it could provide enough energy to run a car for about 3,000 miles. The technology employs a novel type of “flow” battery that is being successfully tested in golf carts.

Host of Food Network’s ‘Chopped’ to speak

From hosting various hit reality TV series to authoring cookbooks, Purdue alumnus Ted Allen has a lot to be proud of. He will share his experiences on Feb. 20 during a Giant Leaps Series event, "An Evening with Ted Allen." The event, presented by the Purdue Student Union Board, will take place at 6:30 p.m. in Stewart Center’s Loeb Playhouse.
