Butler Center’s 'Did You Know?' series panel on teaching resources

The Susan Bulkeley Butler Center for Leadership Excellence is continuing its "Did You Know? Information About Resources on Campus" with a panel on "Teaching Resources: Emphasis on Undergraduates" on Feb. 19.

The panel is set for noon-1:30 p.m. in Stewart Center, Room 218. Lunch will be provided, and an RSVP is required. Registration is available here. Faculty, staff and students are welcome to attend.

The panel will provide an overview of who are the undergraduate students that Purdue teaches. In addition, it will include today’s college student, from a mental health perspective, with information about how students mirror or are different from the nationwide snapshot of college students’ mental health. Services provided by Purdue Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and how they are designed to fit and address the needs of students will be included. The Center for Instructional Excellence will provide information about the Innovative Learning Team and the projects it is focusing on.

The panelists are Jenna Rickus, associate vice provost for teaching and learning, professor of agricultural and biological engineering and professor of biomedical engineering; Susan Prieto-Welch, director of CAPS; and Chantal Levesque-Bristol, executive director of the Center for Instructional Excellence.

The goal of the "Did You Know" series is to share information about campus resources and enable a broader discussion of scholarship that addresses bias, inclusion and retention among all constituencies on campus. The series is intended to facilitate the success of faculty, staff and students, which in turn can contribute to the leadership pipeline.
