In the spotlight: 2009 health plans

Employees will see few changes in 2009 health plans

Faculty and staff can expect minimal changes to Purdue's health plans for 2009. Employees will see an increase in Purdue 500 out-of-network co-insurance payments and a change to the medical plan premium tiers in 2009. In addition, enrollment materials for dental and prepaid legal coverage will be supplied through the Web rather than through paper packets. More

Health plan costs up 6 percent for Purdue, employees

Both Purdue and its employees will see a 6 percent increase in their health plan contributions across all plans and options in 2009. More

Trustees approve paid parental leave benefit

The Board of Trustees, meeting at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, on Friday (Sept. 26) approved a proposal to add a paid parental leave benefit for employees. Information about the new benefit is being distributed today to business offices, human resource staffs, and deans, department heads and supervisors so they can better answer questions and handle leave requests. Details about the benefit will be available in Tuesday's Purdue Today.

The board of trustees on Friday (Sept. 26) ratified the appointments of faculty to one distinguished and four named professorships and a sixth appointment for an endowed chair in management. More

Trustees OK legislative request to support alliance, statewide technology

The board of trustees on Friday (Sept. 26) approved the University's 2009-2011 biennium legislative request for operating appropriations, which includes funds to expand Purdue's statewide technology program and for a joint initiative with Indiana University to grow the state's bioscience economy. More

Trustees OK $11.5 million Hanley Hall, Purdue North Central facility

The board of trustees on Friday (Sept. 26) approved financing and construction of the $11.5 million Bill and Sally Hanley Hall, a facility to foster research on families, aging and leadership. The board also approved planning a $34.7 million student services complex at Purdue North Central. The 85,000 gross square-foot building will be used for student activities and university sponsored events. More

Archives and Special Collections to close temporarily for move
