Application
Before you apply for Summer Finish, please review the following information to help you better understand how the scholarship works and who qualifies.
How does it work?
If you are selected to receive the Summer Finish Scholarship, you will be awarded up to $500 to pay your estimated summer cost of attendance not already covered by other gift aid. The most common award is $500.
Who qualifies?
Generally, students following a plan of study that allows them to complete a Purdue University (West Lafayette or Indianapolis) undergraduate degree during the summer are eligible. The scholarship committee will give preference to applicants who are completing their first degree within four or six years. The committee will not consider students whose summer plan includes courses that are not required for graduation. If you are awarded the scholarship but then become unable to complete your graduation requirements by the end of summer (e.g. you fail a course during the Spring semester that is not offered during summer session and you have to retake it this fall), the Summer Finish Scholarship will be retracted.
What is required for the application?
In the application, you will need to provide:
- First and last name
- Purdue ID number (PUID)
- Major
- Course(s) you plan on taking during the summer (note: students are encouraged to ensure these courses will be offered during the summer, as the selection committee will verify this when considering applications). The list of Summer courses is available in your myPurdue portal.
- A short essay that articulates how the scholarship will enable you to take needed courses to graduate on-time/early and achieve your long-term goals.
