What does the proposal worksheet do?

The proposal worksheet is a dynamic, saveable questionnaire that captures key data points required for every proposal submission. Using the proposal worksheet allows information to be captured fully and in a consistent manner for each application.

Who can use the system?

Anyone with a Purdue Career Account username and password has access to the system.

Who can initiate a new proposal worksheet?

Anyone with access to the system can initiate a new proposal worksheet. The PI will be required to review and submit the completed proposal worksheet to SPS Pre-Award. This ensures that the PI has reviewed the key research compliance questions.

How do I create a new proposal worksheet?

To create a new proposal worksheet you must first login to the system using your Purdue Career Account username and password. The system should then take you to the “My Worksheets” section of the system. From this section, click on New Worksheet to create a new proposal worksheet.

Who has the permission to submit the proposal worksheet?

The PI is the only individual with permission to submit the proposal worksheet to SPS Pre-Award.

I am an incoming Purdue faculty/researcher, how can I start using the system?

In order to use the system, an initiator is required to have a Purdue Career Account username and password. If you have a “purdue.edu” email, you will be able to login to the system. If you do not have a Purdue email set up yet, please contact your academic department Business Office.

Who should I contact if I have any problems using the system?

If I cannot get access to the internet, how can I initiate the proposal worksheet?

I can't see my previous submitted proposal worksheet. Why?

Am I eligible to serve as a Principal Investigator?

All faculty (tenured, tenure-track, research and clinical) are eligible to be Principal Investigators. Others requesting to submit proposals as the principal investigator for the first time must obtain special approval. The request must be communicated to Sponsored Program Services early in the proposal stage.
