Export Controls and Research Information Assurance

The U.S. State Department has issued a Travel Advisory to Iran. Iran is considered a High Risk destination and the recommendation is Do not Travel, due to the risk of arbitrary arrest and detention of U.S. citizens. You can read more about this advisory at the Department of State’s website.

Cybersecurity Alert: The US-CERT has issued an alert for security vulnerabilities known as Meltdown and Spectre. Exploitation of these vulnerabilities could allow an attacker to obtain access to sensitive information. It is recommended that you apply operating system updates to start the process of mitigating the issue.
