Purdue University to host DOE National Labs Day to strengthen research collaborations
Purdue University will host leaders, scientists and experts from 14 of the 17 U.S. Department of Energy’s national laboratories on Nov. 19 and 20 for DOE National Labs Day, an event to foster knowledge sharing and strategic discussions focused on research collaborations and workforce development. Open to all Purdue faculty and students —especially those who partner with the national laboratories or receive funding from DOE — the event emphasizes Purdue’s commitment to advancing impactful research partnerships that drive innovation in areas critical to national security.
Attendees will engage in sessions led by representatives from the DOE national laboratories, Purdue faculty and researchers. A significant focus will be on Purdue students, who will have the chance to learn about internship, job and fellowship opportunities at DOE national laboratories. These sessions — co-hosted by Purdue’s National Defense Society student organization and the Office of Research — will provide students and early-career professionals a firsthand look at exciting pathways in national security and research careers.
“We are excited to host DOE National Labs Day at Purdue and bring together some of the brightest minds in research and innovation,” said Marcey Hoover, director of partner relations for federal laboratories. “This event will deepen our ties with the DOE national labortatories and open doors for Purdue’s students, faculty and collaborators to build relationships and advance opportunities for collaboration.”
DOE National Labs Day at Purdue will begin on Nov. 19 with general sessions in Stewart Center, Room 214, and the student-focused sessions and open career fair will take place in the Purdue Memorial Union’s Faculty Lounge. The event continues on Nov. 20 with tours of key Purdue research facilities and opportunities for career discussions. This event aligns with Purdue’s leadership in transformative research in national security, energy, environment and technology.
