Reportable Outside Activities to be completed in PERA beginning August 11

Rollout of the Purdue Excellence in Research Administration (PERA), Purdue’s innovative electronic research administration system, continues with the upcoming launch of the Conflict of Interest/Conflict of Commitment (COI/COC) module. This is a key part of Purdue’s commitment to streamline research integrity and compliance activities.

On Monday, Aug. 11, phase 1 of the COI/COC module goes live. This new module is designed to simplify the disclosure and management of potential conflicts of commitment, ensuring that all Purdue researchers and staff can easily comply with university policies and federal regulations. Phase 2 is expected in late October.

This milestone follows the successful rollout of other PERA modules over the past year, including Grants, Agreements, Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), and Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) modules. To support export control activities, important enhancements of the Agreements module will happen in late August.

Replacing the current Reportable Outside Activities Disclosure Database (ROADD), the new COI/COC module will provide a more streamlined and user-friendly experience for completion of the Reportable Outside Activities Annual Certification.

Importantly, all Purdue faculty, exempt staff and graduate student employees are required to disclose reportable outside activities and/or complete the annual ROA Certification process using the COI/COC module by Sept. 30.

Users can expect to receive detailed instructions, training opportunities and support resources ahead of the COI/COC module’s launch.
