Michelle Ashcraft is the Director of Purdue Promise and also serves at the Site Supervisor for ScholarCorps at Purdue. She is from Seymour, Indiana and is a Boilermaker alumnae, earning a B.S. in Organizational Leadership and Supervision. She has a M.Ed. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of South Carolina (USC), and came back to Purdue in 2012 after 5 years in the SEC at USC and the University of Kentucky. She is a Bridges Out of Poverty certified Lifetime Trainer and a QPR Gatekeeper Trainer. Outside of work Michelle loves going to concerts, college sporting events, and festivals; cooking; being an aunt to her niece and nephew; spending time with her family; and traveling.

Jess has worked with Purdue Promise since May 2014. Prior to becoming an Assistant Director, she was a Student Success Coach with the program. Jess identifies as a first-generation student, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and 7-12 Social Studies Education from the University of Mount Union, in addition to a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration and Student Personnel from Kent State University. She has experience in academic advising, student athlete academic support, tutoring services, and Supplemental Instruction. Jess considers herself a true “Midwesterner,” and loves the outdoors, travel, cats, reading, tea, crafting, and the color green.

Alyssa Dahmer was a Student Success Coach, prior to becoming an Assistant Director for Purdue Promise.  The self-proclaimed Midwesterner attended the University of Iowa to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.  Following graduation, she served one year in AmeriCorps, was a learning communities coordinator at Wartburg College, and then earned her Master of Science degree in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in Learning & Development at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee before arriving to Purdue.  In her free time, you can typically find Alyssa playing board games, watching science fiction shows and movies, sewing, listening to podcasts, bowling, reading up on positive psychology topics, snacking, or lounging with her cat, Kinnick.

Ariel Brooke Robinson is a Student Success Coach for the Purdue Promise program. She began working at Purdue June 2016 after receiving her Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Florida International University. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Millikin University, which is also located in her hometown of Decatur, IL. She enjoys having fun conversations with her students and attending student events on campus when possible. She likes to do small craft projects, anything Disney (especially The Little Mermaid!), going to the movie theatre and loves a good shrimp taco!

Jazmine Clifton has been a Student Success Coach with the Purdue Promise program since June 2016. Born in New Mexico, but attended Arizona State University, receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Wellness. She received her Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Florida International University. Through experiences with AVID and TRiO, she has developed a passion for working with student access and success programs involving mentorship, shared experiences, and personal development. Jazmine currently serves as the Co-Advisor for the Black Student Union as well as a Faculty Fellow. She enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, dancing, reading, volunteering, playing with puppies, and eating delicious foods!

Aaron Harris serves as a Student Success Coach with the Purdue Promise Program. Born and raised in Louisville, KY (Go Cards!!). Aaron received both his Bachelors in Organizational Communication & Masters in H.D.L. with an emphasis in College Student Personnel from Murray State University. Prior to working at Purdue University, Aaron most recently spent time at Eastern Kentucky University working as a Diversity Specialist in the Office of Admissions. Aaron avidly enjoys cooking, traveling, and gaming (PS4). In addition to these habits, Aaron also has an extensive shoe collection. Member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

Torrence Sorrell is from Chicago, Illinois. As a proud Chicagoan, he enjoys eating at Portillo’s and Giordano’s Pizza (deep dish and thin crust). Torrence Sorrell earned a M.S. at Indiana State University in Student Affairs and Higher Education. In November 2017, he was a recipient of the NASPA IV-East Graduate Student Rising Star Award, for the state of Indiana. Torrence completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he earned a B.S. in broadcast journalism. Currently, he serves as a Student Success Coach for Purdue Promise (since June 2018). Outside of work he enjoys travelling, hanging out with friends, and watching the NBA.

Madalene Ripke is a Student Success Coach for the Purdue Promise Program. She is from Fort Wayne, Indiana and has lived in Indiana her whole life.  After receiving her undergraduate degrees in Sociology and Spanish at Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne, she earned her Master’s degree in Social Work at the IU School of Social Work in Indianapolis. During her Master’s program, Madalene worked as a graduate assistant at the IU Public Policy institute and interned at the Immigrant Welcome Center serving newcomers. Madalene enjoys spending time with her family and friends, binge watching Netflix documentaries, baking, traveling to new places, and playing with her adorable kitten.

Allison Maldonado-Ruiz is a Student Success Coach for the Purdue Promise program. She received her Masters of Education in Higher Education and Student Affairs with a concentration in Higher Education Administration from the University of South Carolina (USC), and her Bachelors of Science in Sociology and Psychology from the Florida State University. During graduate school, Allison worked with Multicultural Affairs and Community Resources at Columbia College, Student Leadership and Engagement at Hofstra University, and Carolina After Dark at USC. Allison immigrated to Florida from Peru with her family, and identifies as a first-generation student. Outside of work, Allison enjoys binging on Netflix, reading memoirs, and daydreaming about adopting a puppy.

Tyler Vuillemot serves as a Student Success Coach for the Summer Start program. Tyler is originally from mid-Michigan and completed his undergraduate studies at Michigan State University before earning a Master’s degree in Postsecondary Educational Leadership and Student Affairs from San Diego State University. During graduate school, Tyler held internships in the areas of Commuter Life, Orientation and New Student Programs, and Residential Life. Through these professional involvements and his personal experience as a first-year and transfer student, Tyler has developed a passion for supporting students in transition and through the rest of their educational journeys. In his free time, Tyler enjoys baseball, hiking, reading, playing guitar, exploring new places, and spending time with family and friends.

Student Success Financial Aid Administrator

Junia McDole is the Financial Aid Administrator for Student Success programs at Purdue University. She graduated from Indiana State University with her Bachelors of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice. She worked as a Financial Analyst prior to coming to Purdue. She is certified through the National Association of Financial Aid Administrators in the application process, student eligibility, and direct loans, among other things.  She has worked exclusively with low income populations and first generation college students at both private and public four year universities. Her primary role is the education and guidance to students and families regarding financial aid, the application process, financial literacy and budgeting.

Junia is available by appointment or visit her during office hours on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 1-3pm in Krach 462.
