AO Development Programs
Building Services Leadership Development Program
This program is specifically designed to identify and train custodial staff in performing the higher management skills required by the crew chief position so when positions become available, there are qualified, experienced internal candidates ready to take on the roles!
Operations and Maintenance Apprenticeship Program
This development program is designed to enhance employees’ skills in a way that is tailored to advancement in AO. By blending classroom instruction with practical field training, employees receive unique training specific to the university. Training is delivered through in-house experts, vendor instruction and online resources.
Energy and Utilities Development Programs
These programs develop employees’ technical skills so they can advance from entry to senior level roles or into supervisory positions.

DevelopMe
DevelopMe is a Purdue program using a roadmap and assessment to provide initiatives for career success and recommendations for taking action.
Career Path Maker
This tool lists available career opportunities, including additional information for each possible job in a specific career path.

Professional Organizations
MaPSAC
The Management and Professional Staff Advisory Committee (MaPSAC) is composed of members who are representative of M/P staff from all segments of the campus community. There are several resources available on the MaPSAC website, including information about professional development grants.
CSSAC
The Campus Support Staff Advisory Committee (CSSAC) was established to provide an effective means of communication between the campus support staff and the University administration. The CSSAC website also includes information about professional development grants. The monthly Campus Connection newsletter includes a section dedicated to professional development opportunities.
APPA Leadership
APPA offers professional development programs and provides a number of resources, including webinars and academies.
