Administrative Operations HR team announces leadership transition
Administrative Operations will see a transition within its Human Resources support team as Justine Sailors steps into the role of lead HR business partner following the retirement of the current lead, Laurie Smit, on March 31.
Justine has been with Purdue’s Human Resources division since 2017 and has supported a number of academic and administrative units across campus in her HR Business Partner role. Prior to joining Purdue, she worked in career services in higher education, assisting new graduates as they entered the workforce. She holds a master’s degree in industrial/organizational psychology from Purdue Global and a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership and supervision from Purdue University.
As part of this transition, Justine and Laurie will connect with AO leaders in the coming weeks to introduce Justine in her new role and ensure a smooth transition. Paul Gary and Desiree Henderson will report to Justine while continuing to serve in their current HR business partner roles supporting individual units within Administrative Operations. As part of these adjustments, Administrative Operations Administrative Services (AOAS) will transition from Paul Gary to Justine for HR support.
This transition will help maintain continuity of HR support for AO units and provide an opportunity for leaders to connect with Justine as she steps into the role.
