Retirement of Dave Burford

After 37 years of dedicated service, we are proud to announce the retirement of Dave Burford.

Dave began his career in Operations and Maintenance in August of 1988 and has remained with the department throughout his entire tenure. Over the years, his leadership and technical expertise earned him five awards in recognition of his outstanding contributions and commitment to excellence.

Dave served as the supervisor of the Electronics/Telecommunications/Elevator Shop until 2015 when he transitioned into the zones supervisor role. In 2018, he moved from Academic Zones to University Residences Zones where he has continued to provide steady leadership and support ever since.

Dave’s 37 years of service have left a lasting impact on the university, the department and the many colleagues he has mentored and worked alongside. His dedication, knowledge, and professionalism will be greatly missed. We thank Dave for his many years of service and wish him all the best in a well-earned retirement.

A retirement party for Dave is going to be Friday, Feb. 27 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Physical Facilities Service Building (PFSB) in room 1233.
