Retirement of Steve Miller
Steve Miller, a project coordination manager with Energy and Utilities, will retire from Purdue University on Thursday, Oct. 2 after 45 years of service! Steve has been with the university since 1978, starting in the general labor department for Buildings and Grounds. He then transferred to the Electric Shop and worked as an electrician. In 1983, he was promoted and continued his career in Utility Engineering, assisting with engineering and the startup of Boiler 5, Turbine Generator 1, the Southwest Substation and revisions to the Northeast Substation. He also worked in Capital Asset Management, upgrading over 22 high voltage electrical vaults and started the Arc Flash group. He eventually transferred back to Energy and Utilities where he will retire.
A reception will be held in Steve’s honor on Thursday, Oct. 2 from 1-3 p.m. at the Utility Plant Office Facility (UPOF). All are welcome to attend to wish him well in retirement!
