Retirement of Denise Hale

Denise Hale, a senior project assistant with Energy and Utilities, is retiring from Purdue University after 40 years of service! She will officially retire on Thursday, July 31.

Denise was hired in May 1985 in the Physical Facilities Business Office (PFBO) as an account clerk for all departments within Physical Facilities. With the arrival of personal computers, came different responsibilities as a PC advisor. Denise was one of five that helped department clerks get acclimated to Multiplan spreadsheets and Word documents. She was transferred from PFBO to Heat and Power in September 1992 where she has worked the rest of her time. Denise graduated from Purdue’s Accomplished Clerical Excellence (ACE) training. She has received several promotions throughout the years, as well as Bravo Awards for both operational excellence and innovation/creativity.

A reception will be held in Denise’s honor on July 31 from 1-3 p.m. at the Utility Plant Storage Building (UPSB). All are welcome to attend to wish her well in retirement!
