Retirement of Glen Shockey

After nearly 47 years of dedicated service to Purdue University, Glen Shockey will officially retire from Administrative Operations on June 27.

Glen began his Purdue career in 1978 as a custodian in the Electrical Engineering Duncan Annex and quickly progressed through a variety of technical roles. His career included work as an electrician for special projects and construction, an IAQ/motor technician and a console operator for environmental controls systems where he answered calls and programmed controls. Since 2004, Glen has served as a facilities system controls designer, playing a vital role in supporting and advancing building systems across campus.

Among his many accomplishments, Glen is especially proud of returning to school to complete his degree in Construction Management Technology—a testament to his lifelong commitment to learning and professional growth. He has also completed all available Automated Logic Corp training courses, holds the designation of Green Globe Professional (GGP) and is a certified fiber optic splicer.

While there will not be a retirement reception for Glen due to his hybrid schedule, colleagues and friends are encouraged to send well wishes and messages of congratulations to him at gshockey@purdue.edu before his last day on June 27.

Please join us in thanking Glen for his nearly five decades of service and dedication at Purdue. We wish him all the best in retirement!
