Marty Hitchcock joins Data Governance team to help address maintenance plans and items

I’m pleased to announce that Marty Hitchcock has transitioned over to the Data Governance team within Administrative Operations Integrated Analytics. Marty’s main area of responsibilities is the management of the following:

  • Maintenance Plans and Items
  • Task Lists
  • Material Masters
  • Measuring Points
  • Bill of Material

Day-to-day, Marty continues the creation, changes and review of maintenance plans and the above items that go with that. Throughout the year, his strategic focus, along with the rest of my team, is to review our data, establish standards for critical maintenance items, and act as technical authority related to Purdue’s Assets in our SAP PM system. His main areas to support are the following:

  • Operations and Maintenance
  • Building Services
  • Grounds
  • Environmental Health and Safety
  • Fire Equipment Services

Our intention is to work with Capital Asset Management, their project managers and the commissioning agents to ensure we have recommended preventive maintenance information ready in the system when a building comes online.

The Data Governance team is also heavily focused on improving the data in SAP PM. A major goal going into FY26 is to start building spare part lists to our equipment and location records, and work in collaboration with inventory operations to identify critical parts to have on hand.
