New Campus Transit 2550 Northwestern Ave. express shuttle now available
Traveling between campus and 2550 Northwestern Ave. (2550) just got faster and easier with a new express shuttle that is now available as part of the Purdue Campus Transit service. The new fixed route, 2550 Express, is a designated shuttle that loops between 2550 and the Physics Building (PHYS) only.
What’s New
2550 Express features a designated shuttle with a predictable schedule that runs every 30 minutes during peak commuting times Monday through Friday. All express shuttles run between the 2550 south parking lot and PHYS along Northwestern Ave. The pilot program will continue through May 8 with the following schedules:
Morning shuttles are available from 7-9 a.m.
- This shuttle starts and ends at 2550.
- 2550 service: 7 a.m., 7:30 a.m., 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
- PHYS service: 7:15 a.m., 7:45 a.m., 8:15 a.m. and 8:45 a.m.
Early evening shuttles are available from 3:30-6 p.m.
- This shuttle starts and ends at PHYS.
- PHYS service: 3:30 p.m., 4 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
- 2550 service: 3:45 p.m., 4:15 p.m., 4:45 p.m., 5:15 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.
What’s the Same
- All Campus Transit services, including 2550 Express, are free for Purdue riders.
- All existing fixed routes and on-demand Campus Transit locations continue to operate as they currently do. Maps and schedules are available in the Purdue Campus Transit mobile app and online.
- No reservations are needed to utilize Campus Transit fixed routes, including the new 2550 Express. Just hop on and go!
- Campus Transit on-demand service continues between 2550 and select campus locations, and booking is required in the Purdue Campus Transit mobile app. This option is recommended for commuting between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. when the 2550 Express does not run. Users are encouraged to book on-demand service in advance to guarantee rides and shorten wait times. On-demand service is a shared shuttle that includes multiple stops based on rider needs, with designated, preset pick-up and drop-off locations.
- All Campus Transit shuttles, including the 2550 Express, can be tracked in real time through the mobile app.
