Power Purdue: Administrative Operations looking to fill key campus service roles
Purdue Administrative Operations (AO) is currently recruiting for open positions within the Grounds Department.
Administrative Operations powers Purdue University by providing safe, reliable and transformative services, supporting the university’s day-to-day operations as well as its long-term strategic vision. These roles support the essential services that keep Purdue’s campus safe, well-maintained and operating smoothly, and they offer an opportunity to build a rewarding, long-term career with a highly respected organization.
For those considering a role with the Grounds Department, the work environment is unlike a traditional office setting. “You definitely need to like the outdoors — that’s our office,” said Tim Reiss of the Grounds Department. “Every day is different, and you get to see the direct impact of your work across campus. It’s rewarding to be part of a team that takes pride in maintaining the spaces our students, faculty and staff use every day.” From maintaining landscapes to supporting campus beautification efforts, Grounds team members play a visible and vital role in shaping Purdue’s environment throughout each season.
AO employees benefit from the stability of year-round work, competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental and vision insurance, retirement plans, paid time off and opportunities for ongoing training and professional growth. Team members in Grounds work in collaborative environments where their contributions make a tangible difference every day.
This recruitment effort highlights AO’s commitment to growing strong, service-focused teams across campus. Encouraging qualified applicants to explore these openings and inviting AO employees to participate in the referral process helps strengthen the organization while offering valuable career opportunities to new and existing members of the Purdue community.
Current AO staff may participate in the Referral Bonus Program by referring qualified candidates for open AO positions. To be eligible, the candidate must be new to Purdue, meet minimum qualifications, complete a 90-day provisional period and list the referring employee in SuccessFactors. Referring employees must be AO staff members (excluding vice president-level employees, Human Resources and hiring managers) and must submit the online referral form before the candidate’s start date. Forms submitted after the start date are not eligible.
