Retail dining updates include new allergen-free option, focus on convenience
The new KNOW Eatery inside the Atlas Family Marketplace offers allergen-free dining options, including prepackaged snacks in a grab‑and‑go cooler and made‑to‑order meals prepared at the service counter.
Purdue Food Co.’s retail dining locations across the West Lafayette campus continue to evolve to meet the needs of faculty, staff and students.
Holy Bowls, a new line of Kosher-certified grab-and-go options, are now being offered at the Purdue Memorial Union (PMU) Boilermaker Market. Additional information about Holy Bowls and other Kosher- and halal-friendly options on campus is available in a separate article. At the same time in the PMU, an allergen-free dining option has opened its doors while other options have closed.
KNOW Eatery is now open in the Atlas Family Marketplace on the ground floor of the PMU. Following a soft launch at the start of the semester, the locally founded concept celebrated a grand opening on Jan. 26. Founded in 2024 and a regular at the Purdue Farmers Market, KNOW Eatery is family-owned and operated, offering an allergen-free kitchen that is free from gluten, dairy, nuts, soy, sesame and animal products. The menu includes a variety of options such as tacos, burgers, soups, baked goods and smoothies, making it a good option for individuals with food allergies as well as vegans, vegetarians and pescatarians.
“KNOW Eatery reflects our continued commitment to creating welcoming spaces that support all members of the campus community” said Jessica Robertson, associate vice president of Auxiliary Services. “Adding a high-quality dining option in the PMU that prioritizes food allergy safety enhances the daily experience for faculty, staff, students and visitors who rely on the union as a central gathering place.”
Furthermore, Anyway You Slice It is no longer operating in the Atlas Family Marketplace. The concept remains available through Purdue Food Co. catering services for events and gatherings.
Clean Plate, previously located in Chaney-Hale Hall of Science, and Scoops + Sweets, formerly located in the Honors College, have closed. The former Clean Plate space will be converted into Boilermaker Market @ Chaney, a 24-hour, self-checkout convenience market similar to other Boilermaker Market locations on campus.
