Purdue Surplus Store to be open Saturday (Dec. 6)
The Purdue Surplus Store, located at 698 Ahlers Drive in West Lafayette, will have special operations on Saturday (Dec. 6). The store will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for in-person shopping and online order pick up.
A large selection of Purdue athletics apparel will be available for purchase, along with computer monitors and equipment, desks, chairs, other furniture and more.
“Being open this Saturday is an excellent way for the community to check out everything the Surplus Store has to offer, especially leading up to the holidays,” said Jessica Robertson, associate vice president of Auxiliary Services. “Whether hosts are looking for extra seating for guests or wanting to gift some Boilermaker gear, there is something for everyone.”
Can’t make it on Saturday? The store is open Monday through Friday from 12-4 p.m., excluding university holidays and closures. Additionally, select items are available through the Surplus online store, and other merchandise can be bought via GovDeals online auctions. Follow the Surplus Store on Facebook or Instagram to see what will come through the door next.
The Purdue Surplus Store has served university departments and the public since the mid-1960s by diverting electronic and general waste from the landfills. Department assets that still have remaining life head to the sales floor to find a new home, and other items like broken electronics are recycled accordingly in collaboration with Purdue’s Environmental Health and Safety department.
The Purdue Surplus Store and Environmental Health and Safety are part of the Administrative Operations organization, which supports the university through safe, reliable and transformative services. Following the reduce-reuse-recycle method is just one of the ways the organization helps power Purdue.
