Environmental Health and Safety Summit and Expo to take place on Nov. 12
Faculty, staff, building deputies and campus safety champions are invited to attend the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Summit and Expo on Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 8 to 11 a.m. in Stewart Center, room 214. Formerly known as the annual Safety Chair Meeting, the event will feature sessions focused on promoting safety awareness, sharing best practices and strengthening Purdue’s culture of safety. Attendees are encouraged to visit vendor and EHS tables in room 218 from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. to learn more about available safety resources, programs and equipment.
The summit will open with remarks from Eric Butt, senior director of Environmental Health and Safety, followed by presentations covering topics such as emergency preparedness, laboratory safety, waste management and hazard recognition. The event will also include the Presidential Safety Award presentations, recognizing individuals and departments for exceptional contributions to safety at Purdue.
Following the main sessions, limited spots will be available for participants to attend post-summit learning opportunities from noon to 1 p.m., including concurrent lunch and learn sessions on self-auditing, emergency planning and safety simulations. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
The full program agenda is currently available. Registration will remain open until Monday, Nov. 10. Preregistration is recommended to help minimize wait times, though same-day registration will also be available.
