As a reminder, those working, attending classes and living at Purdue University in Indianapolis are encouraged to sign up for emergency text notifications.
The text notifications are part of PurdueALERT — the university’s emergency notification system. The system consists of multiple communication methods to help notify the campus community in the event of an emergency. Other methods include emails and social platform X. Please note that the X handle recently changed from @purdueemergency to @PurdueALERT. There are also all-hazard outdoor warning sirens that may be activated during severe weather or another campus emergency.
PurdueALERT is also used to communicate campus operational status changes on the Campus Emergency Status website, including closings or delays due to winter weather.
The option to also receive emergency texts for the West Lafayette location is available too.
More information about the PurdueALERT system is available on the Office of Emergency Preparedness website.
