Recognizing the Purdue University Police Department during National Police Week
Next week is National Police Week, which is the perfect opportunity to recognize and honor the men and women who make up the Purdue University Police Department (PUPD).
Law enforcement professionals dedicate their careers and lives to serve and protect their communities. The profession requires courage, compassion and commitment to public service. Police officers are most often on the front lines, sometimes in dangerous or uncertain situations, protecting lives and enforcing the law.
Here at Purdue, it is no different. Officers with PUPD are essential members of the campus community. They work 24/7 to ensure Purdue is safe and secure, responding to a variety of emergency and non-emergency calls. As our campus continues to grow, PUPD plays an integral role in safeguarding our students, faculty, staff and visitors and fostering positive relationships.
This National Police Week, take some time to show gratitude to members of PUPD for their dedication and commitment to the Boilermaker family.
Sincerely,
Jay Wasson, Vice President for Physical Facilities and Chief Public Safety Officer
