Recognizing the Purdue University Fire Department on International Firefighters’ Day
May 4 is the perfect opportunity to recognize the dedicated firefighters who make up the Purdue University Fire Department (PUFD) for International Firefighters’ Day. Our firefighters, paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) are essential members of the campus community, providing emergency services 24/7.
The men and women of PUFD are courageous and compassionate in the work they perform. They are often the first on scene for emergencies, whether it be a fire or a need for medical services. They are able to adapt to the different scenarios that may occur on a large university campus. They are also committed to education and prevention, promoting safety and awareness for students, faculty, staff and visitors.
This International Firefighters’ Day, take some time to thank members of PUFD for their selflessness and devotion to the Boilermaker family.
Sincerely,
Jay Wasson, Vice President for Physical Facilities and Chief Public Safety Officer
