Cold weather alert and action items for buildings

Over the next few days, the weather is forecasted to have below-zero temperatures followed by several days of highs reaching only the teens, remaining well below freezing. With these temperature levels comes the potential for issues to arise in campus facilities, such as burst pipes and water leaks. Immediately report these and related issues to the Purdue Public Safety Dispatch Center at 765-494-8221.

To help minimize the impact of outside temperatures on buildings, please ensure all exterior doors are completely closed upon entering or exiting and all windows are latched.

Fume hoods that are not actively in use or necessary for research should be shut down to decrease energy consumption.
