Hybrid options to be offered for sixth Lilly Day at Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University students will be able to take advantage of both in-person and virtual sessions with leaders from Eli Lilly and Co. for this year’s Lilly Day on Thursday (Aug. 26).

The sixth annual event is designed to introduce Purdue students to the global pharmaceutical company and the career opportunities that exist within the Fortune 200 company.

During Lilly Day, students from all class levels will be able to learn about Lilly — the largest private employer in Indiana — and its more than 130 years of hiring Purdue graduates in areas such as engineering, sales, finance, human resources, marketing, procurement, supply chain and more.

In fact, Lilly employs nearly 1,100 Purdue graduates — more than from any other university.

“We are excited to host Lilly Day at Purdue again this year,” said Tim Coleman (M’90), Lilly’s vice president and information officer, Medicines Development Information and Digital Solutions. “It’s a great opportunity for students to learn about how we unite caring with discovery to create medicines that make life better for people around the world.”

Lilly Day will kick off at 11 a.m. with the two-hour, in-person “Connect & Chill” event. This will allow students to connect with Lilly employees in various areas of interest. Students can register by texting “LDAPCC” to 50500.

The highlight of the day will be the “Community, Careers, and Adaptation” panel discussion with Lilly leadership and early-career professionals. The discussion, which will take place from 4-5:15 p.m., will be in person with a virtual option available. Those who wish to participate may register by texting “LDAPPanel” to 50500.

In addition to Coleman, the other panelists are also Purdue alumni and include Matt Edwards, vice president of Indianapolis Parenteral Operations; Alexis Cohen, a consultant with Lilly Sales Institute Neuroscience Coaching; and the host of the event, Scot Lindsey, vice president and chief technology officer.

After the panel discussion, students will be able to explore career paths with Lilly in breakout sessions. In-person breakout sessions will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m., and the virtual breakout sessions will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Students can register for the in-person sessions by texting “LDAPBreakout” to 50500 and the virtual sessions by texting “LDAPVBreakout” to 50500.
