WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University Global continues to strengthen its executive team with the hiring of Tim Werth as its inaugural vice president of administrative services and chief information officer.

In this role, Werth will provide visionary leadership, operational execution and organizational support to transform processes and enable technologies in support of Purdue Global’s strategic objectives.

“I am excited to join the Purdue University Global team at a time when delivering online education has become a foundational building block of higher education,” Werth said.

Werth has worked for Purdue West Lafayette for the previous five years as director of business process reengineering (2016-18), senior director of finance (2018-20) and executive director of strategic initiatives for Information Technology at Purdue (2020-21). Initially, he led the $35 million Transform Purdue initiative to redesign the university’s business processes and technology supporting finance, human resources and enterprise asset management. Werth subsequently was responsible for strategic and operational financial results for a $300 million portfolio of units, including Student Life and Intercollegiate Athletics.

Werth’s other experience includes multiple leadership positions with Oerlikon Drive Systems from 2012-16 as part of a 30-year career in accounting and finance.

“As we continue to grow, we are excited to add someone with Tim’s breadth of experience in higher education generally and Purdue University specifically to our leadership team,” Purdue Global Chancellor Frank Dooley said. “His background is the perfect fit for us from an organizational standpoint.”

Werth earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Purdue in 1991.
