Purdue University Global, OnlineDegree.com partner to make higher education more affordable in light of COVID-19

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University Global has partnered with OnlineDegree.com to offer adults across the country access to a more affordable and flexible college education in light of COVID-19.

The partnership allows prospective Purdue Global students to satisfy certain general education requirements through OnlineDegree.com’s self-paced online courses and to do so tuition-free. Not only can students benefit from a significant reduction in educational costs, it helps overcome traditional barriers that often inhibit adult students from pursuing their degree.

“Purdue University Global is proud to offer our students an outstanding, flexible education that grows their skills and advances their careers,” Purdue Global Provost Jon Harbor said. “Our partnership with OnlineDegree.com is an additional pathway to Purdue Global that makes higher education even more accessible and allows us to help even more adult students achieve their professional goals.”

OnlineDegree.com is an innovative learning platform in higher education’s ed-tech space that gives anyone the ability to test-drive the college experience and receive college credit toward their degree at no charge. Working adults, who are often reluctant to approach college due to general anxieties, financial concerns and restrictive work responsibilities, can begin working toward their degree without the need or expense of traditional applications, entrance exams or initial costs. OnlineDegree.com works with participating accredited universities to award transfer credit for students’ completion of the courses.

“The aftermath of COVID-19 has left millions of jobless people in the country who need new skills and education,” said Grant Aldrich, founder of OnlineDegree.com. “Purdue Global is already a known institutional leader in providing excellent adult-focused education. Our partnership during these difficult times will make that high-quality education even more accessible to those people across the country who desperately need it.”

Through the partnership with OnlineDegree.com, prospective Purdue Global students will have up to 44 units of available credit that could be applied toward their degree, reducing their cost and time to complete their degree.
