Soccer players’ head injury risk could be reduced with simple adjustments to the ball, study finds

A new study conducted by Purdue engineers recommends preventing how hard a soccer ball hits a player’s head by inflating balls to lower pressures and subbing them out when they get wet.

Machine learning for making machines: Applying visual search to mechanical parts

A team of Purdue mechanical engineers has created the first comprehensive open-source annotated database of more than 58,000 3D mechanical parts, designed to help researchers apply machine learning to those parts in actual machines.
