C-SPAN engagement center to host virtual post-election reflections

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Center for C-SPAN Scholarship & Engagement will host two “Post-Election Reflections” via Zoom on Wednesday (Nov. 4) and Thursday (Nov. 5) that will feature leaders and journalists from C-SPAN, USA Today, Wall Street Journal and The Hill.

C-SPAN founder and Purdue alumnus Brian Lamb will moderate two of the four hours, which will feature Purdue student voices. Purdue students will be encouraged to ask questions and make comments. The public is welcome to watch via Zoom. The events on both nights are 6-8 p.m. ET.

Here are the schedules and speakers for both events:

Wednesday (Nov. 4)

6-7 p.m. – Lamb and Susan Page, Washington bureau chief for USA Today and moderator of this year’s vice-presidential debate.

7-8 p.m. – Scott Wong, senior staff writer for The Hill, and Craig Caplan, C-SPAN Capitol Hill producer will discuss the future of Congress after the elections. This forum will be moderated by Connie Doebele, managing director of the Center for C-SPAN Scholarship & Engagement.

Thursday (Nov. 5)

6-7 p.m. – Lamb and Jason Riley, columnist and editorial board member for The Wall Street Journal.

7-8 p.m. Kathryn C. Brownell, associate professor in the Department of History, and colleagues from Made by History from The Washington Post will take a historical perspective on the 2020 election.
