Appointments, honors and activities

• Faculty and staff honors:

Randy Roberts, 150th Anniversary Professor and distinguished professor of history, was selected as the recipient of the 2019 A.J. Liebling Award for Outstanding Boxing Writer. The Boxing Writers Association of America presents the career award to those who have distinguished themselves through writing about the sport. Roberts has written five books about boxing, his most recent being “Blood Brothers: The Fatal Friendship Between Muhammad Ali and Malcolm X."
