College of Liberal Arts to celebrate fifth Love Liberal Arts week

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Purdue University College of Liberal Arts will celebrate its fifth annual Love Liberal Arts week from Feb. 10-14 with a series of free events. Open to everyone on campus, the week’s activities will serve as a reminder of the many ways liberal arts enrich people's work and cultural lives.

Among the daily activities are an alumni/student trivia night at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 12 at the Tap Room in Purdue Memorial Union and a Feb. 14 screen printing event from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Participants will be able to print a Love Liberal Arts design onto free posters, T-shirts or personal items they bring to Stewart Center’s west foyer under the mural.

Free Love Liberal Arts beanies will be available throughout the week to students who visit the Liberal Arts Career Center in Beering Hall and write why they love liberal arts onto a Post-It note. In addition, students, faculty and staff will be able to get free professional headshot photos taken on Feb. 12 and 13. A photographer will be available in Beering Hall, Room 1289B, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Feb. 12 and from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Feb. 13.

The College of Liberal Arts’ celebratory week will feature many other events and activities, including daily hot chocolate giveaways and an American Red Cross blood drive starting at 10 a.m. Feb. 14 near the “Unfinished Block P” sculpture and Stewart Center.
