Purdue expert available to talk about ‘wormable’ vulnerabilities in light of newest warning

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Microsoft recently issued a warning about installing patches to avoid “wormable” vulnerabilities. What does that mean? Purdue University professor Eugene Spafford is available to explain these and other cyberattacks.

Spafford, director emeritus of Purdue’s Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security, is one of the preeminent leaders in the field of cybersecurity. A member of the Cybersecurity Hall of Fame, he has served as a senior advisor or consultant for two U.S. presidents, as well as the Air Force, the National Security Agency, the FBI, the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Energy, not to mention technology giants Microsoft and Intel.
