Purdue police investigating armed robbery

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred around 4 a.m. Friday (May 31) near the Northwest Athletic Complex.

The victim, a 19-year-old not affiliated with Purdue, told Purdue University police he had gone to the area for a business transaction and was met by three people, and a weapon was produced. The victim, whose cell phone and wallet were taken, used a campus emergency phone to alert authorities. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. He has been released from the hospital.
