Australian circus arts company Circa to perform at Purdue University

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Australian circus arts company Circa brings “Humans” to Stewart Center’s Loeb Playhouse on October 26-27, with an 8 p.m. performance each night. This show is presented by Purdue Convocations with support from Turning Pointe Academy, Purdue University Dining and Catering, and Nancy DiMartino and Stephen Borghi.

Join Purdue Convocations in the 1869 Tap Room at 7 p.m. for a pre-show meetup before each performance. Immediately following each performance, join Purdue Convocations in the 1869 Tap Room for a post-show meetup.

How much of life’s weight can the human body bear? Who can we trust to support us? Circa — one of Australia’s most in-demand circus arts companies — tests these limits in “Humans.” With their vulnerabilities exposed on a bare stage in the intimate confines of Loeb Playhouse, 10 acrobats explore what it means to be human — discovering rousing, redemptive power in strength and learning how bodies, connections, and aspirations form who we are. “Humans” inspires introspection about our own lives and loved ones, the burdens we carry, and the physical or emotional strength required to overcome them. With fearless, thrilling movements that push boundaries and quicken pulses, Circa combines expressive humanism and physical virtuosity.

Tickets are $36 for adults and $22 for children 18 years and younger, Purdue students and Ivy Tech Lafayette students. Tickets are available at the Stewart Center box office at 765-494-3933 or 800-914-SHOW. Group tickets are also available to groups of 10 more.
