Media advisory for event on Friday (September 21)

What: Groundbreaking for Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, a 100,000-square-foot-facility for electric power research. Reporters attending are asked to contact Tom Coyne at Purdue Research Foundation, 765-588-1044, tjcoyne@prf.org.

Where: Northwest corner of U.S. 231 and State Road 26 (across the street from Purdue Technology Center Aerospace, 1801 Newman Road), West Lafayette, IN 47906 

When: 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21. The program is expected to last 30 minutes. 

Speakers include: Purdue President Mitch Daniels; Edmund O. Schweitzer III, founder and CEO of Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories; Brian Edelman, Purdue Research Foundation president; Mung Chiang, Purdue’s John A. Edwardson Dean of the College of Engineering; and Chris Cotterill, chief operating officer, Indiana Economic Development Corporation.
