Appointments, honors and activities

Faculty and staff honors:

- Willie Reed, dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, was recognized by The Royal Veterinary College of the University of London for his contributions to diversity and inclusion in the veterinary profession. Reed received an honorary degree during a presentation on July 5. More information on the honor and video of the presentation can be found here.

Notables:

- Nadia Brown, associate professor of political science and African American studies, received funding from the American Political Science Association for her collaborative project with six other researchers and professors. The team received a $25,000 Special Projects Fund grant for "#MeTooPoliSci: Addressing Gender Discrimination in Political Science." Brown's team members include Rebecca Gill (University of Nevada Las Vegas), Jennifer Merolla (University of California, Riverside), Melissa Michelson (Menlo College), Elizabeth Sharrow (University of Massachusetts Amherst), Patricia Stapleton (Worcester Polytechnic Institute) and Dara Strolovitch (Princeton University).  The inaugural Special Projects Fund grants funded 10 programs aimed at advancing the discipline of political science.
