Annual Purdue ‘Horseman's Forum’ to be held at Lynn Hall Feb. 10

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine’s annual Horseman's Forum will bring horse enthusiasts together to learn about current horse health issues on Feb. 10 at Lynn Hall.

This year’s forum, scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., will include speakers, demonstrations and an optional tour of the large animal hospital. Topics will include nutrition, mare reproduction, pre-purchase examinations and equine health, to be covered by Purdue faculty and staff as well as industry experts.

As part of an extended lunch break, attendees will have the option to attend a treadmill demonstration by Dr. Laurent Couetil, professor of large animal internal medicine and director of the Equine Sports Medicine Center, as well as an endoscopy demonstration by Dr. Sandy Taylor, associate professor of large animal internal medicine. There also will be opportunities to interact with the event’s sponsors Nutrena, Zoetis and Haygain. In addition, members of the veterinary student Equine Club will be selling their emergency kits.

Registration is open to the public but a late fee will be applied after Jan. 26. More information about the Horseman’s Forum, including registration, is available at https://vet.purdue.edu/ce/horsemans.php
