Suggested commencement traffic routes, parking information
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – As the State Street Redevelopment Project is underway, Purdue police are providing suggested routes and campus parking information for the university’s commencement ceremonies May 12-14.
There will be six ceremonies from Friday afternoon through Sunday. Below is route and parking information. Read the suggested routes/parking carefully, as the first ceremony (3 p.m. Friday) varies from the other five ceremonies.
Friday May 12, 3 p.m. ceremony
The North Stadium lot will be the designated parking area and visitors will be bused to Elliott Hall.
Inbound from the North, South and West using US 231
From US 231 take Lindberg Road eastbound
Turn right off of Lindberg road onto McCormick Road
Turn left off of McCormick Road onto Cherry Lane
Turn right into the North Stadium parking lot.
Inbound from the East from I-65
Exit I-65 at Exit 172 onto westbound South Street and continue
Turn right onto Creasy Lane
Turn left onto Union Street
Continue on Union Street
Union Street jogs right and turns into Salem Street
Continue on Salem Street to the Harrison Bridge and cross
Enter West Lafayette
Salem Street has now turned into Fowler Avenue. Continue on Fowler Avenue
Fowler Avenue curves to the right and turns into Northwestern Avenue.
Continue northbound on Northwestern Avenue.
Turn left onto Cherry Lane
Turn left into the North Stadium parking lot.
Divisions II through VI ceremonies
Includes 8 p.m. Friday; 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Saturday; and 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Each of these will use Purdue University Parking Garages.
Inbound from the North, South and West using US 231 to the University Street Garage
From US 231 take Lindberg Road eastbound.
Turn right onto McCormick Road
Turn left onto 3rd Street
Turn right onto Waldron Street and the University Street garage is on your left.
Inbound from the East using I-65 to the Northwestern Avenue Garage
Exit I-65 at Exit 172 onto westbound South Street and continue
Turn right onto Creasy Lane
Turn left onto Union Street
Continue on Union Street
Union Street jogs right and turns into Salem Street
Continue on Salem Street to the Harrison Bridge and cross
Enter West Lafayette
Salem Street has now turned into Fowler Avenue. Continue on Fowler Avenue
Fowler Avenue curves to the right and turns into Northwestern Avenue
Continue northbound on Northwestern Avenue and enter the Northwestern Street parking garage on your right, just after the automatic signal at Grant Street.
